If your business needs to exchange data with remote
locations, Frame Relay may be for you. This digital
line has more transmission capacity and higher speed
than regular phone lines, and because Frame Relay is
a public network, you reap significant savings because
you need less connections…only one per site. Unlike
private line networks, where you must purchase dedicated
phone lines between each location, Frame Relay allows
you to achieve the same result with only one Frame Relay
connection from each location for access to all other
sites.
The advantages of Frame Relay add up fast: quicker
file and image transfer, saving you money in overnight
mail costs and duplicate data entry. It saves time,
by allowing you to manage your inventory on-line between
your remote sites, or between you and your supplier.
You can even add new sites as your business grows.
It's called Frame Relay because data is divided into
small, more manageable parts called frames. These frames
are sent through the FiberComm Frame Relay network and
to their destination. Once the data reaches its destination,
it is checked for errors. When all the frames are received,
they are reordered in sequence, reassembled, and forwarded
to the appropriate recipient.
